Bluevine vs. Chase Business FAQs.

Is Bluevine or Chase Business better for my business?

If you’re split between Chase vs. Bluevine, only you can decide which banking solution is better for your business. There are certain factors you might want to consider, including: whether earning APY directly on your checking balance matters to you (Bluevine offers up to 3.0% on checking; Chase’s business checking earns 0%); whether you need access to a line of credit with flexible short-term repayment (Bluevine offers 3–12 month terms; Chase requires collateral and a 2-year business history); whether accounts payable and invoicing tools should be included in your base plan; and the importance of sub-accounts for budgeting and cash management. Read more about Bluevine’s products and services here.

What are the biggest differences between Bluevine and Chase Business?

In the comparison of Chase vs. Bluevine, one of the biggest differences is where you earn interest. With Chase, your business checking account earns 0% APY — any interest requires moving funds into a separate savings account that pays just 0.01% APY. With Bluevine, you earn interest directly on your checking balance: the Standard plan earns 1.3% APY16 on checking balances that meet activity requirements, while Plus earns 1.75% APY17 and Premier earns 3.0% APY18 after a monthly fee. That means your operating cash is earning interest from the moment it hits your account — not just what you set aside in savings.

Another key difference is lending. You can apply for a Bluevine Line of Credit up to $250,000 and term loans up to $500,000 through lending partners. Chase offers business loans and lines of credit, but requires at least two years of business history, collateral for its line of credit, and in-branch application for all loan products.

Finally, Bluevine includes accounts payable features — bill forwarding, auto capture, approval workflows, and scheduling — in all plans at no extra cost. Chase offers basic online bill pay but does not include AP automation features like bill forwarding or auto capture in any of its business checking plans.
