Introducing BlueVine

Hi and thanks for visiting our blog! In our first post, we’d like to take the opportunity to tell you a little bit about ourselves.

Based in Palo Alto, California, we are a group of technology and finance professionals. We started the company with a simple goal – to help small businesses overcome their short-term cash flow challenges. Specifically, we’re looking to bridge that all-too-familiar cash gap which happens due to slow paying customers. If you are a small business owner or freelancer, you know exactly what we mean by that. Waiting 30 or even 60 days to get paid for a job already done or product already shipped can create tremendous hardship for your business. What if you could get your money upfront rather than waiting? You could use it to pay salaries, buy inventory or invest in marketing to grow your business. Sounds great doesn’t it? That’s where we come in.

To learn more about our services, go to www.bluevine.com. We’re looking forward to growing together!

What’s a BlueVine?

Oh yes, our name. We get asked that question a lot. BlueVine or Blue Vine is short for Blue Trumpet Vine (also known as Laurel Clock Vine or Thunbergia Laurifolia). Native to India, it is a vine with opposite, heart-shaped leaves and a blue-purple like flower. We came up with this name after running through dozens of possible options. Eventually, we came to plant and flower related names, because we liked the association with growth and blossom. When we stumbled upon Blue Vine, we knew it was it. The rest as they say is history.
